The City of Hopewell is actively shaping a comprehensive safety action plan focused on reducing fatalities and severe injuries resulting from vehicle crashes involving pedestrians, bicyclists, transit users, and drivers. Developed through community collaboration, this plan will prioritize roadway and infrastructure improvements to address safety concerns for Hopewell residents, while also paving the way for future safety-focused funding initiatives.
Central to this action plan is a commitment to prioritizing the needs of those most affected by traffic-related incidents, particularly pedestrians, bicyclists, and individuals within historically underserved communities. This approach aims to enhance safety for all road users.

Our primary goal is to incorporate and amplify community feedback throughout the planning process, the design and execution of transportation safety projects, and the application process for Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) funding.
